I'm on probiotics. I have yoghurt to get my stomach to work. I eat dark chocolate when I'm having diarrhea(1 block does the job). Otherwise I stay away from red meat, white bread, white rice, white potato. And rather eat the brown unrefined bread, wheat, rice.

I use Siberian Pine Nut Oil. It is rather expensive but it does help to an extent. Ive been to the dr yesterday for back pain. Dr diagnosed me with fibromialgia (FMS). He said that 80% of people with IBS or other digestive disorders also have FMS which is a syndrome which involve the nervous system. More pills to take each day and was told to follow a low carb diet and no diary products. I have to take meds for a month and then we can decide on a way forward.

@A myIBSteam Member I suggest maybe googling CBD oil...I believe it is a "hemp" product and is sold over the counter and I have heard from 1 person who has crohns that he ate something that affected him, he felt the flare coming and the CBD oil stopped it in its tracks!! Not sure how or if it was coincidence but it sounds like a no brainer to try!! I am considering it myself but wanted to see if anyone else knew more!! I think it's for inflammation in general bc another friend used it when he injured his knee and also swore by its affects!! Good luck to you and your husband!! I wish him health in the new year!!
