I am very happy with my treatment as I take no meds at all. I follow the SIBO Diet and get acupuncture twice a month. I do get the odd flare up but I know how to soothe it or deal with it now naturally.
I take align or jameson for IBS. Plus having acid reflux I take other meds.
I am careful what I eat. I have never touched broccoli in over a year. I am very careful with corn.
I have a friend who has IBS and she has been a very good help with me.
I also see a dietation who has helped me very much.
I don't believe ther is any real cure for ibs and taking meds us a guessing game so I relay on my diet and stress control
Nope. I went away, got qualified as a nutritionist and figured it out myself. Now I help others, not just with IBS but with weight problems and their diet in general to combat high cholesterol and blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and keep them heart healthy. And I’ve just written a book on how I did it which I’m trying to get published.
Doctor's have never been able to help me. I took matters into my own hands and read up on how to treat myself. I had to cut dairy, soy, gluten and eggs from my diet. I also had to stop eating red meat and reduce how much other meats I eat to a minimum. I eat canned tuna or salmon and chicken breast/lean chicken thighs. The problem with a lot of people diagnosed with IBS is that they have trouble digesting insoluble fibres and fats. Thus, I take a prebiotic (Heather's tummy fibre with 100% acacia senegal) that doesn't thicken or have a flavor to it, a probiotic and lots of water (Fall and Winter, 2-3 litres a day and in the spring and summer, 3-4 litres). This has helped me immensely but still I wake up with chronic pain and have random pains throughout the day that I have to treat with either the aforementioned regimen or (once I actually fill my prescription) CBD oil. It's a lengthy and extensive process and unfortunately most of this (except for the medicinal cannabis) is not claimable for taxes yes. I also eat 4-6 small meals a day.
