My ibs has been out of control lately but I definitely know food is a trigger especially sugar. This time of year is especially hard as everything is about food and I find myself not eating just to avoid having a issue but we know not eating can also cause gas build up and that can also get ibs going. I know personally I retain a lot of fluid during my flare ups. But I've gained and I really don't eat much when I do. I've gain up to 20lbs being sick and all I can do is sleep through it.

this is so embarrassing but I get severe rectal burning while going to the bathroom and for the whole rest of the day and afterwords does any one else experience this? its awful and painful ! atm my stomachs in nots so suffering a flare so gta keep using loo but my rectum also swells up terribly any ideas to help this or what it is? thank you x

I never and I mean never have a normal bm. About 3 times a week, I have what I call episodes. Episodes of pain, many bowel movements and tenesmus. I literally get rid of everything I've eaten in the past few days in an episode that last anywhere from 1 hour to 5. And always in the am. Is there anybody here that does this. My gastroenterologist is trying to help but so far nothing.

I am working with a Functional Medicine physician and trying to use minimal prescription drugs.

First thing in the morning if I don't take immodium at night I can go to the loo up to 7 times in the first hour. My doctor reckons this part of the IBS but when your staying at someone's house with only one bathroom it gets a bit embarrassing also we travel a lot and that is the same when your back and for the washroom. Has anyone else experienced this and can they tell me how to cope.

Hi all. I'm almost certain I have IBS. Mygut never feels amazing. It's always rumbling or I'm gassy or bloated or I have cramps or I have loose bowel movements or I struggle to have a bowel movement.so yea I guess all symptoms of IBS..today I'm looking for suggestions. I have always been such a nervous pooer, that i take a bunch of anti- diarrhea meds before anyone comes over because I'm so fearful of having to poop with them in my house. Going out and doing it at another's house is even worse! Anyone else?
