Hi there, I'm new to this group. I have IBS c symptoms. Had anyone tried poopari spray or similar options? It is so embarrassing to have your family or spouse walk into the restroom after having an IBS flare. Any suggestions?
I carry the purse size bottle of poopouri in my pocketbook just in case.
I am definitely new at trying to gain control or at least achieve functionality with IBS-C and am looking for a sendible plan of what to eat and what to avoid. My recent visit with my gastro resulted in me needing more medication and a gluten free diet.
Update. Adding gluten back has made everything worse. Stomach and intestines hurt. Very gassy and bloated
Does anyone else get dizzy, nauseous, and super tired 1-2 hours after eating anything? This is so hard😞
2 years ago I had tests originally for IBD and when all of those tests were negative, the conclusion was IBS. I have struggled recently with accepting this as a diagnosis because I feel amazing most of the time but when I have a flare it can knock me off my feet and I struggle then mentally with worrying about whether or not I am feeling better. I do not take regular medication for my IBS-d, as my doctor has said if it's bad use Imodium and for the bloating peppermint tablets. Has anyone else… read more

I don’t really drink but have met some friends who drink socially. I’m more willing to participate in these happy hours with them, but have found the last two times something has aggravated the IBS. Last night I drank one Moscow mule, and the other time I don’t know if it was the recipe or not, but I ate a casserole - and I regretted it for a few hours. I can easily not drink a drop if it causes this. Just trying to be social and not such a stick in the mud. But, pain will be the dictator.
It’s a no no for me when I’m like this
Everytime I eat sugar in any form my stomach swells and I suffer crippling pain, nothing eases it. I try to avoid sugar as much as possible but because I'm so hormonal I tend to crave it occasionally. :(
Have you been tested for SIBO?
The diet seems to be really geared towards IBS-D especially from what I can tell. I know when I first tried doing it it helped the bloating, but made everything else worse, because I was following all the low fiber (and often pretty heavy) recipes on Pinterest... not great for constipation or someone whose gut is triggered by heavy foods. Combining the low-FODMAP diet (modified with what I know I can handle based on the reintroduction phase) with a more personally "constipation friendly" diet… read more
