Trying to get more info on my Functional Bowel Disorder through others

I'm in the UK, I paid for a private consultant to listen to my symptoms and diagnose. Nothing internal, just external examination and discussion. He's a very accomplished and well regarded specialist.

Diagnosis:
I have functional bowl disorder or FDB. His words "This is where something is wrong in the digestive system (gut) but it is not serious and is on-going". He said I share some characteristics of IBS but it is not IBS: "you tick a… read more

Hi Clyde.
I am still around yes, but not regularly. My 'rumblings' seem to be worse if my immune system is low (e.g. common cold or run down). Also worse if I haven't been sleeping well. Unsurprisingly it's not been great recently given time of the year and germs flying around - a 5 year old son bringing bugs home doesn't help!
I'd say my discomfort is only really between 5am and 7am. It might be before that but i'm in a deeper sleep and don't know. It wakes me up around 6am the most, lighter sleep time and I guess I'm laid on my side or front, pushing on the bowel area, so it makes sense.
I guess we all have theories on what our problems are - mine is there's a certain part of my gut, somewhere towards the end of the journey that is the problem, so it doesn't hurt all the time and only really when it's near to needing the bathroom time.
I don't know if any of this is helpful but I hope it is.
All the best. T

Hi Tibbs: I am new to this site and scanning questions yours is VERY similar to mine. My primary issue is what I have been calling "Stomach rumbling" which can happen anytime, but is worse at night. I recently read about Functional Bowel Disorder and wondered if that might be what I have as I rarely have diarrhea or constipation. I'm not going to type too much now as I see your post is three months old. Please respond if you are still on this site and we can discuss further! Thanks!
