I'm sure I've had inflammation, during bad flare ups of ribs. The pains are awful and take days of very careful eating to recover from.

I read recently that the intestines get inflamed with IBS must do to cause the pain surely. Have you tried peppermint tea I also take peppermint oil capsules from health shop or some supermarkets sell them helps with the digestion I find it helps and with wind. Do you think you should see a doctor/specialist especially if you can't keep food down? I hope you soon get it sorted is a nightmare.

He's ok thanks,he has to be careful. He was so Ill for months. His dad died of stomach cancer and the way he looked I thought it was history repeating itself. Mine is fairly manageable. I have to really take care of myself,as you know, sometimes it's easy to take care of others, but we aren't always so good to ourselves.

I am keeping an eye on mine though. It's only recently I've had any pain and I've had ibs probably 40 years. We have a few cases of colitis in the family ,including my son.He was very ill with it some years back but now mainly is just careful what he eats, much like myself with my ibs, so who knows? I've never had any tests, but my doctor said my symptoms were classic ibs. Cancer screening routinely comes up clear. I assumed the pain was down to a couple of gastrointestinal infections I'd had in the last year. Happy days!
