A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

I was just wondering does anyone experience body aches and fatigue with IBS? Last night after I went to sleep I started having body aches and was like NO!! I can.t get sick... I did have a flare up yesterday and it when on all day and apparently through the night with the aches and then this morning too. I've been on a light diet since yesterday. Does Anyone Vomit With Their Attacks?
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with IBS over 30 yrs ago. I will vomit quite a bit during my attack. It will seemed blocked at first. Then the vomiting comes, sometimes before I have a break through (explosion) and sometimes during going. After what I call my attack I’m so depleted and weak, I have nothing left in me. I’ll go to bed. I’ve never seen anyone mention that they also vomit? I’ve been to the Er twice in the last 6 month after an attack. Once I was very low in potassium, and the other magnesium. Fiber Supplements For IBS D Making Things Worse!
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hi, I am new here. I have had what I believe is IBS-D for many years. About 15 years ago I saw a GI doc, had a colonscopy, and was told to just take a fiber supplement. The fiber supplement made me much worse. Last year I was tested for Celiac and the test was negative. I have also tried a gluten free diet without success. Also had a test for my pancreas and that is normal as well
I am seeing a different GI doctor now and am scheduled for Colonscopy soon. He thinks my issue is likely IBS… read more

Food Choices
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

So I have decided I am sick of the stomach pain, nausea, throwing up, and the other end issues. With no help from the dr’s. I finally am going to start giving up gluten and see if that helps eat a little better, and cleaner. More veggies that kind of stuff. Is there anything that others have tried that has helped, vitamins giving up certain things? Any help or incite would be very appreciated.. thank you

A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hi everyone I’m getting depressed lately. My Dr.has started me on high blood pressure medication. And my bowels only function once every two weeks I’m tired and get sleepless nights. Does anyone take high blood pressure medication that does not constipate them?
Thank you

I tried Linzess and it didn’t work. I use Benefiber, bowel softeners and Dulcolax. I have yet to figure out the best with the Dulcolax. Was supposed to take 2 a day but I quit that because it had me… read more

SIBO - Small Intestine Bacteria Overgrowth
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone else been diagnosed with SIBO? I've rarely seen it mention when researching IBS, but the new doctor I went to yesterday suggested a modified fodmap diet that eliminates additional foods to address it. You can get tested for SIBO but I decided to just start treatment right away without confirmation of the test, because I am so desperate to feel better.

I think I heard somewhere that you should not use probiotics when you have SIBO but I am not 100% sure.A pharmacist would be able to give you the correct answer ! ❤️
