I have been taking cholestyramine powder for about 6 months and if you take it you know it is not pleasant. It does not dissolve in liquid and if not mixed up vigorously you are swallowing lumps of orange powder. If there is anyone out there who takes it and has found a halfway bearable way of taking it I would greatly appreciate any advice. It helps so well for me but I want to puke everytime I drink it. I been taking it for a month but I can't stand the taste. I tried everything. I been struggling with my IBS-D and IBS-C for many years. Even mixing it with crystal light it still tastes disgusting.

I don't know if I'm eating something that I shouldn't I followed the fodmaps and his best I can no wheat rye or barley very very little sugar once in a while Splenda even though they say no artificial sugar very little bread once or twice a week and that's gluten free and then I get this gas of an evening and I'm like three or four times into the bathroom to pass the gas cuz I'm not sure what's going to happen when I do a small amount of bowel movement just a little bit not diarrhea sometimes I⌠read more
Thankyou, the gastro enterologist did blood work and found a list of things food-wise that I guess I'm allergic to the irritate the stomach right no raw vegetables no fresh fruit no dairy no egg⌠read more
It's come about over the last few months where my fingers are swollen and the joints sore mainly on my right hand. Also it seems to be affecting my shoulder and neck. For many years I've had lower back issues and sciatica.

I was told by a GI specialist that immodoim and Pepto can actually paralyze your gut if you take too much so I was told to not take that stuff anymore.

I can relate. Doesnât matter what I eat. And doesnât happen right away. Happens the next day!
I know personally I retain a lot of fluid during my flare ups. But I've gained and I really don't eat much when I do. I've gain up to 20lbs being sick and all I can do is sleep through it.
Yes it's hard to lose or maintain weight I think its inflammation and water retention and when you feel well I take advantage and eat up while I can so that's why I think I have 10 lbs that comes off⌠read more
I was just wondering does anyone experience body aches and fatigue with IBS? Last night after I went to sleep I started having body aches and was like NO!! I can.t get sick... I did have a flare up yesterday and it when on all day and apparently through the night with the aches and then this morning too. I've been on a light diet since yesterday. Just curious if body aches is normal. I feel so sleepy and run down
Lately I have been having lower back pains when I have major attacks. Looking forward to getting home and seeing my doctors and get answers.
