My doctor says antibiotics work if you have an ulcer, which is caused by bacteria. They don't help with IBS and as per above, harm the good bacteria in your gut. I find eating non-fat yogurt very soothing. I like fruit at the bottom and the sugar doesn't seem to bother me.
I have issues with Antibiotics because they kill off the good gut bacteria unless you are doing probiotics in-between? Sorry for your pain. Prayers you feel better!
Thank you for your response... I’m on the same antibiotic and on round two in the last two months . Like you said it seemed to help for a little bit then nothing ... back to the pain , bloating, ect ... I also have ibs -c
rifaxamin. Helped but was only for a month or two. I have IBS c also used rifaxamin along with neomyacin it helped morectge two combinef but was short lived. Have new pres eruptions for both but want to add prokinetics too before I start. Much if what I read suggests that helps you feel better longer. rifaxamin is crazy expensive in US unless your insurance covers. Believe 2 weeks out if pocket is $2400.
