I was put on antibiotics far too many times with no results. In fact, I was getting worried that I would become immune to them working any longer so I opt out of them whenever I can. Especially the very strong ones they give
My doctor says antibiotics work if you have an ulcer, which is caused by bacteria. They don't help with IBS and as per above, harm the good bacteria in your gut. I find eating non-fat yogurt very soothing. I like fruit at the bottom and the sugar doesn't seem to bother me.
I have issues with Antibiotics because they kill off the good gut bacteria unless you are doing probiotics in-between? Sorry for your pain. Prayers you feel better!
Thank you for your response... Iām on the same antibiotic and on round two in the last two months . Like you said it seemed to help for a little bit then nothing ... back to the pain , bloating, ect ... I also have ibs -c
rifaxamin. Helped but was only for a month or two. I have IBS c also used rifaxamin along with neomyacin it helped morectge two combinef but was short lived. Have new pres eruptions for both but want to add prokinetics too before I start. Much if what I read suggests that helps you feel better longer. rifaxamin is crazy expensive in US unless your insurance covers. Believe 2 weeks out if pocket is $2400.
Good luck
