Starting Linzess (linaclotide) and having a very active first day followed by quieter days is actually something many people with IBS-C experience. Your gut may have simply needed time to "reset" after that initial response.

Here are a few things worth knowing:

- Linzess works by increasing fluid in the intestines and speeding up bowel movement, so the first dose can sometimes cause a stronger-than-expected reaction
- It can take some time for your body to find a consistent rhythm with the medication
- Timing matters — it's typically recommended to take it on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before your first meal of the day

It's worth giving it a little more time, but if things don't improve or you have concerns, reaching out to your doctor is a good idea. They may adjust your dose or timing.

Don't be discouraged just yet — finding the right balance with IBS-C treatments often involves a bit of trial and error, and day 4 is still very early in the process! 🙂
