What can I eat and drink when on FODMAP diet?

What can I eat and drink when on FODMAP diet?

I had my appointment this morning with a dietician for the FODMAP diet. He told me I am not allowed to drink squash because of the sweetners in it. The one I use has the following ingredients:

Water, Fruit Juice from Concentrate (10%) (Apple 9%, Blackcurrant 1%), Acid (Citric Acid), Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrate), Flavourings, Colour (Anthocyanins), Preservatives (Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Metabisulphite (Sulphites)), Sweeteners (Aspartame, Sodium Saccharin)

Does anyone else get palpitations that aren't associated with stress or anxiety.

Does anyone else get palpitations that aren't associated with stress or anxiety.

I've suffered on and off with tachycatdia. They doctors have noticed this when I've had surgery or a procedure that requires sedation. It doesn't always present on an ecg but has done on occasions. They did tell me which one it was but brain fog means I can't remember what they said. I get it quite a lot when I experience a pain or if my body is out of sync in some way. I also get pins and needles in my hands. My hips hurt as do my… read more

What are you after symptoms?

What are you after symptoms?

What do you experience after a flare up? I typically get fluid retention from my chin to my toes. I guess this isn't a common symptom. I just have to keep chugging water until my body resets. Does anyone else experience similar or the same?

Trying to get more info on my Functional Bowel Disorder through others

I'm in the UK, I paid for a private consultant to listen to my symptoms and diagnose. Nothing internal, just external examination and discussion. He's a very accomplished and well regarded specialist.

Diagnosis:
I have functional bowl disorder or FDB. His words "This is where something is wrong in the digestive system (gut) but it is not serious and is on-going". He said I share some characteristics of IBS but it is not IBS: "you tick a… read more

Flare ups that last all day

Flare ups that last all day

Does anyone else get flare ups from time to time that will last all day or even two days? I'm having a flare up and it started this morning and comes and goes especially after I eat. I've been watching what I eat for a while now. I've cut out all spicy foods, acidy foods too. I've cut back on the red meat and greasy foods. I wasn't nasuous till now. And I will get like hot flashes too. Has this happened to anyone. I'm on hyscomine for the IBS. Probably not spelled correctly.

Do you find IBS changing over time?

Do you find IBS changing over time?

In the past I typically would have C for a bit and then have an attack of D that would last a few horrible hours with pain, chills, and occasionally nausea. But then it would mostly be over and able to continue with life until the next one. Lately the attacks are not so intense, just feel not right and not want to do anything. Almost like there is stuff in me I have to get out, but now it takes days instead of hours. I don’t feel as bad, but it is still annoying because I just… read more
