Iv just started taking mebeverine and I don't find that it works that well. I have constant stomach pains and spend most nights unable to sleep. Iv gave up lactose, I avoid bread, beans, eggs, all sorts and I'm basically left with little to eat, and I'm scared to eat anyways. I tried mebverine years ago did not work have you tried flat bread it's like Pitta bread don't have bread every day crispbread with cheese spread cereal rice hardly any fruit herbal tea plain soup best to do a food diary that's what I did yeArs ago I have had I B S for over 20 years try not to stress out peppermint after each meal and small glass of lemonade fizzy just sip it I read a lot and took up knitting years ago it does run in families my dad my mum had it but did not know what it was before it was too late

I used to be in that I was on it for 6 months before they found out I had I b s 20 years ago in the end I had to be operated on they opened me up and found pockets in the bowel 6 in total that's when they found out I had IBS I don't take any medication now I can empty my bowel easy now
