I have ibs- d so I do not have regular use of laxatives. When I do have a constipation problem the doctor told me to use miralax. Another doctor is having me take metamucil daily that seemd to help with both constipstion and diarrhea. I have also tried eating baby food pureed prunes or prune juice which is a little bit gentler on my system. Hope this helps you a bit !
