Does anyone else get flare ups from time to time that will last all day or even two days? I'm having a flare up and it started this morning and comes and goes especially after I eat. I've been watching what I eat for a while now. I've cut out all spicy foods, acidy foods too. I've cut back on the red meat and greasy foods. I wasn't nasuous till now. And I will get like hot flashes too. Has this happened to anyone. I'm on hyscomine for the IBS. Probably not spelled correctly.

Members shared how IBS flare-ups can last anywhere from a full day to several weeks, often feeling unpredictable and exhausting despite careful dietary choices. Several members described managing symptoms with medications like Hyoscyamine, Immodium, and Metamucil, with one member finding relief through a mild muscle relaxer for intestinal cramping and digestive enzymes for processing fatty foods. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of living with persistent symptoms, the frustration of flares happening even with restricted diets, and the determination to simply carry on through the pain.

Yes mine often last all day only feel bit better the few hours after eating makes me not want to eat! I've also done as you have cutting the same things out. My diet is plain, lighter, less food. I can be careful and still flare up v frustrating! No magic cure as yet. Good luck.

I've had flare ups that last several weeks. My Dr finally prescribed a mild muscle relaxer because the pain comes from seized intestines. I have also discovered that digestive enzymes help to process fatty food especially if you have no gall bladder. I rarely need the muscle relaxer now.

Here is a question that has been bothering me since diagnosed in September.Does anyone on the team have a weight loss issue? Here is the question.Since we spend so much time on the toilet why are we not losing weight.for example when I saw the doctor I was 163 on a 5’8 frame. After meds I gain five pounds and have been consistent throughout the year. You would think that everything we eat comes out why then are we not losing weight. Is it just water?
