Can't seem to make it to work on time due to pain, multiple bm every morning. Harassed by supervisors, they don't believe i can have problems only in the morning. They think I'm lying even with certification from Dr. Won't make accommodation for a one hour delay. Others have flex time. Not sure what to do. Anxiety makes it worse. Any advice.

Members rallied around someone facing workplace harassment due to morning IBS symptoms that made punctual arrival difficult, despite medical documentation and 33 years of service at a family-owned engineering firm. Several members emphasized that employers are legally required to provide reasonable accommodations under the ADA, with advice to document everything through Human Resources and consider getting additional letters from mental health professionals to strengthen the case. A recurring theme was the gut-brain connection between anxiety and IBS symptoms, with practical suggestions including using adult protective underwear, keeping an emergency kit at work with supplies and a change of clothes, and exploring fiber supplements or natural products to help manage unpredictable bowel movements throughout the workday.
