Members strongly agreed that toxic thoughts and emotions can trigger IBS symptoms, with many sharing that stress, worry, severe emotional upset, and anxiety are direct causes of their flare-ups. Several members described managing their symptoms through a combination of anti-anxiety medications like Zoloft and Celebrex, deep breathing exercises, positive self-talk, and physical activity like going to the gym, with one member recommending a book connecting toxic thoughts to digestive disorders. A recurring theme was the powerful mind-body connection in IBS, with members acknowledging how grief, worry, and stress physically manifest in their digestive health and the importance of calming techniques to manage both mental and physical symptoms.

If I've been stressed or had an upset it can flare up I quite strongly believe emotions have a part to play in it. I do slow deep breathing can help with the pain calm the intestine.
