Members shared mixed experiences with the FODMAP diet for IBS-D, with some finding it life-changing and others seeing little to no benefit, though many agreed it was valuable for identifying personal trigger foods like onions, green peppers, broccoli, and certain high-fiber items. Several members described combining FODMAP principles with other strategies, such as going gluten-free or dairy-free, using the Monash University app as a guide, and taking medications for GERD alongside dietary changes. A recurring theme was the challenge of adhering to restrictions, especially around tempting foods like chocolate during the holidays, and the importance of giving the diet a thorough trial period before reintroducing foods to understand what works for your unique body.

Thanks for your reply. So as long as you don’t cheat you don’t have any flare-ups? I’m ok with dairy. I eat yogurt everyday. It’s more like increased sugars like chocolate but some days I’m fine even if I cheat with chocolate. I do feel better if I stay completely away from that which you think would be easy to do but not always. Lol

Going gluten free helped the most. I also did a FODMAP trial. I felt better with no onions, green pepper and limited tomato sauce. I have incorporated that into my lifestyle. I do love peppers and other colors are o.k. if cooked. Give it a good trial time and than add food back.

For me I would say the fodmap diet had a lot of good information. Although it is not 100% for me it is 85% and yes because of the fod map diet I found out that it confirmed some harsh triggers. It’s a good guide to follow!!!

No, I haven"t tried this diet, but should give it a try.
This time of year meaning Christmas will be really difficult not attempting to eat the good things like Chocolate, I know I certainly love my Chocolate.
