Gas But Constipated
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

I used to have diarrhea quite often, but now I am almost always constipated. I have no idea how to deal with it. I eat 25g + of fibre each day and take Align. I have started taking Iberogast as I also have reflux issues, but nothing is working. I also have a lot of gas and get very bloated, pretty much all the time...
Restoralax does work, but often times too well and then I’m going multiple times a day!
Any ideas of how to fix this???? I would really appreciate any input!! 🙂

A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

I suffer from IBS and unfortunately so does my 26 year old daughter and my 5 year old grandson. We find that food is the biggest trigger.. I was wondering if anyone has had an impacted bowel caused by the foods you have ate? I have had it twice, both times had to be in hospital for hours filled with laxitives, and finally had to have an impaction done which was the worst thing in the world I have gone through and I have gone through a lot. I take Clear lax every day in my tea and when I need it… read more

Is There A Bearable Way To Mix Cholestyramine Powder?
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

I have been taking cholestyramine powder for about 6 months and if you take it you know it is not pleasant. It does not dissolve in liquid and if not mixed up vigorously you are swallowing lumps of orange powder. If there is anyone out there who takes it and has found a halfway bearable way of taking it I would greatly appreciate any advice. It helps so well for me but I want to puke everytime I drink it. What sucks is just about everything bothers me and I NEED to take this medication if I ever… read more

I been taking it for a month but I can't stand the taste. I tried everything. I been struggling with my IBS-D and IBS-C for many years. Even mixing it with crystal light it still tastes disgusting.

I Recently Started Colestipol. I Feel Like I Am Having The Opposite Problem. Instead Of Upset Stomachs 3/4 Times A Day, I Can’t Go At All.
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

Dx IBS-D but have had weeks that I am constipated and then diarrhea for days. I can have weeks of normal GI going-ons as well. So wondering if this dx is correct or if something else could be going on. I was treated for diverticulitis (suspected) in February. Things were GREAT while I was on those meds.

Yep that's IBS for ya! It's very hard to control and unpredictable. I've had it for many years. I just deal with it on a day to day basis. When I go out I don't eat. I mostly eat plain soft food...no… read more

Does Anyone Vomit With Their Attacks?
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with IBS over 30 yrs ago. I will vomit quite a bit during my attack. It will seemed blocked at first. Then the vomiting comes, sometimes before I have a break through (explosion) and sometimes during going. After what I call my attack I’m so depleted and weak, I have nothing left in me. I’ll go to bed. I’ve never seen anyone mention that they also vomit? I’ve been to the Er twice in the last 6 month after an attack. Once I was very low in potassium, and the other magnesium. It… read more
