Ive been told to eat bread and pasta every day for 6 weeks - only ten days to go? Has anyone else been through this for gluten intolerance? Symptoms are upset stomach, bloating, horrendous wind, tiredness amongst other symptoms.

Members shared their experiences with the challenging six-week gluten challenge required before celiac disease testing, with several describing how difficult it was to continue eating gluten daily due to severe symptoms like vomiting, bloating, and exhaustion. Many members reported significant relief after going gluten-free, with improvements in gas, bloating, and overall digestive comfort, though one member noted it can take up to two years for gluten to fully leave the system. A recurring theme was the importance of getting proper testing before eliminating gluten, staying hydrated, and experimenting with related dietary changes like low FODMAP or avoiding caffeine and fried foods to further manage symptoms.

I am Coeliac . I was diagnosed in June. I have had no gluten in my diet since then. My IBS is just as bad at the moment. It can take up to two years to get the gluten out of my system. My only advice I can give you is to drink plenty of water. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I used to experience terrible gas and bloating. Since cutting out gluten I have seen a huge improvement! I rarely have gas problems now. I hope you find that going GF helps you. Along with following a low fodmap diet going GF seems to have really helped me.

I went gluten free after I was vomiting and being serious unwell any time I ate gluten. I was told by my gp that I was possibly gluten intolerant. So they told me to cut out gluten and referred me to a specialist. I was told by the specialist that I had to eat gluten everyday for 6 weeks. But I couldn't as it made me so poorly and I was doing my a levels at the time and couldn't afford to have time of from studying through being unwell. So I never got an official diagnosis, but I am still careful around wheat as I know it is a trigger. Good luck to you I know how awful it can be to go through.
