FODMAP Diet
A myIBSteam Member asked a question 💭

I have had a referral to see a dietician to go on the FODMAP diet. I am just wondering what does it entail? And any info anyone may have would be really helpful. Thanks

I try to follow that diet, suggested by my GI. It's very limited, but I've lost 15 pounds! No sugar, sugar substitutes, caffeine, Fructose, artificial ANYTHING, only certain, fruits and vegetables, etc. It's hard to follow everything, but I try and it helps.

I hope so too Kylie. Keep a close check on dairy products. It could be the lactose...and also gluten. This eating plan can be very intimidating, but stick with it.

I've been on the FODMAP eating plan for two weeks and it has helped with gas and bloating. Once you figure out the foods that trigger your symptoms you should notice a big difference. I keep a log of everything I eat and the symptoms that follow. Goid luck with it.

It was suggested to try that, I am not so sure I want to really restrict my diet and life so much. It is already restricted with the IBS-D and C
