I have been taking cholestyramine powder for about 6 months and if you take it you know it is not pleasant. It does not dissolve in liquid and if not mixed up vigorously you are swallowing lumps of orange powder. If there is anyone out there who takes it and has found a halfway bearable way of taking it I would greatly appreciate any advice. It helps so well for me but I want to puke everytime I drink it. What sucks is just about everything bothers me and I NEED to take this medication if I ever… read more
I been taking it for a month but I can't stand the taste. I tried everything. I been struggling with my IBS-D and IBS-C for many years. Even mixing it with crystal light it still tastes disgusting.
Hoping that you feel better! I need to gain weight also! Very difficult to do when many foods bother you!
Hi, I have recently relocated to another country. How soon do you explain your illness to new friends? I’m going to run out of excuses to meet up with them soon 😳
I also have fibromyalgia so have flare ups with that also,so double the cancellations!
I try too tell friends
Many of them don"t get it.
My friend who is a nutritionist suggested Activated Charcoal and eliminate carbs and sugar for awhile. Her daughter has ulcerative colitis and goes to an alternative dr.
What are any other suggestions.
Sounds interesting!
Since i was tested and found out that i have many food allergies, i have excluded the foods I’m allergic to and now i feel so much better.

I was diagnosed with IBS over 30 yrs ago. I will vomit quite a bit during my attack. It will seemed blocked at first. Donna, have you been to a Gastroenterologist? Have you had a colonoscopy?
I’d like to see public establishments post a sticker on their door indicating that people with IBS - or any other elimination disorder, bladder or bowel - are welcome to use their restroom. I hate to see the “patrons only”’sign when I have an emergent need.
I have Celiac disease and IBS. I have lost 13 lbs the past year and am struggling with trying to gain it back . It seems I gain a few pounds then suffer a flare and lose it
Neither has helped me and I am out of answers. Have used 2 tabs of vicadon since last Thursday May 2nd. Half lasts me 40 hours. No pain anywhere in a week. Getting some sleep and eating a little… read more
Most times, after moving my bowels I have the constant feeling of still having to go. I do go a lot but it takes many bowel movements until the feeling goes away. It is miserable. I am happiest on days when I don’t go at all!
Can anyone else identify with this and is there anything that helps. Thanks.
Mine too. Constipation for almost 2 weeks, and then diarrhea for a week. I suffer from migraine as well. I am afraid I'm going to get fired. 😒
